    Molly, I have seen more heavy equipment stuck than you could imagine and I have seen a lot of foot stomping and cursing when it happened too. It can happen to anyone, and I love the cheerful positive attitude you carry with you everywhere. Not bad at all for a dental tech turned farmer/equipment operator! 😁😁

    People are under the assumption that “how can a tractor get stuck, they are huge and powerful?” Yes they are, and they are extremely heavy which is the reason most of the time. There’s a spot on the field we know about and try to get as close to it as we can without getting stuck but it still happens.

    Oh well, we know you weren’t home sippy your tea, wondering if it was time to start tillage. You didn’t mess up, consequences of getting an early crop in for the early higher price. My first shot would have been excavator low ground pressure and ability to lift up. The bright side is Shane almost got the feller stuck, only mention that because of how deceiving that ground was.

    We had the local co-op spreading lime for us and before he started the boss took him on a tour of the field and showed him the one corner of the field to stay out of. The guy was bragging about how it would only take 20 minutes to sread the first load. So the boss was sitting in the loader waiting to refill him and it was taking longer than he said. The boss drove back to the field and there he was still fully loaded with about 15 tons of lime in the wet hole he was warned about. We broke about 5 chains before we gave up and called the boss's cousin that had a 620 quad. The best part was at the fair that fall the dealer that leased the tractors to the co-op got to see a picture of the John Deere tractor and spreader being pulled out by a Quad track. He asked me to email him the pictures.

    Ton of silt in the low spots where the drainage occurs, i like those massive tow straps, they have some give and aren't as catastrophic if they break, all good live to sub soil another day

    Time to invest in yankum ropes. They are like gaint elastic ropes so you get the sling shot effect when pulling and alot safer than chains!

    🥔👑I see 21K and if this rate continued you will reach 50K on June 1st 2025. However, I think it will be sooner than that since there is an exponential factor that will increase the growth rate and reduce the amount of time.

    Tractors these days are too heavy for the land. All they do is damage underground drains and soil strata. Bigger doesn't always mean better!!!

  • @davepatti2296
    @davepatti2296 2 години тому

    I'm a big fan of the Yankum ropes now. Back in the day the manure spreader wagon would get stuck, same time in spring, ground still wet and soggy. we'd unhook wagon and get tractor out on dry land, then hook chains together and drag it out. usually emptied manure first make it lighter. Been right were you are kiddo!

    I know someone who rolled a tractor over going thru a steep ditch so compared to that this is just a learning lesson. That is why they have those glass breaking hammers in tractors in Europe hanging in the cab.

    Nice recovery, I would suggest you look into one of the kinetic ropes, much better than chains, would have come out in one pull, once you use ropes you never go back to just chains, I started using the ropes 40 years ago, but she came out pretty good
